ISIS chief al-Baghdadi dead in US raid in northwest Syria, Says US President Trump : Report

President Donald Trump says that watching the raid that killed Islamic State group leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Syria as it was underway felt as though you were watching a movie.

As per the report, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi “is dead” in a top secret United State special forces raid in northwest Syria, US President Donald Trump announced on Oct 27, saying the elusive leader of the “ruthless” Islamic State and the world’s number one terrorist died “like a dog and like a coward”. While Speaking at the White House on Oct 27 morning, He stated the American K9 dogs chased down the ISIS leader to a dead-end tunnel along with three children and he was left with no option but to blew up his suicide vest.

The Reuters News agency reported that US officials confirmed that the operation took place but did not disclose details.. However, the defence officials argued it appears that Baghdadi detonated a suicide vest during the raid. However, Abu Bakr Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State terror group, has been in hiding for the last five years. In April, a video was released by the ISIS media wing al-Furqan that showed a man purporting to be Baghdadi. It was the first time Baghdadi has been seen since July 2014, when he spoke at the Great Mosque in Mosul.

Meanwhile, An Iranian official attributed via Twitter on Oct 27 that the United State announcement on ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s death is “not a big deal”! Iranian Telecommunications Minister Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi attributed that this is “not a big deal”! you just killed your creature,” in response to an earlier tweet from President Trump where he attributed “something very big just happened.” Mr Trump confirmed Baghdadi was dead during a on Oct 27 announcement from the White House, saying he “blew himself up” after a United State special operations forces mission Saturday.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi also issued a statement after ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in a US military raid calling his death “significant.” “Americans salute the heroism, dedication and skill of our military and our intelligence professionals and acknowledge the work of our partners in the region. We are relieved that no U.S. personnel died in this daring raid,” Pelosi asserted. “The death of al-Baghdadi is significant, but the death of this ISIS leader does not mean the death of ISIS. Scores of ISIS fighters remain under uncertain conditions in Syrian prisons, and countless others in the region and around the world remain intent on spreading their influence and committing acts of terror.”

Although, President Trump told reporters on Oct 27 that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was not informed ahead of the raid that killed the ISIS leader. CNN’s Ted Barrett reports Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was not briefed ahead of time either, according to a source with familiar with the situation. ISIS operates in West Africa, Libya, Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, Afghanistan and the Philippines, and has followers in Europe and elsewhere. That in addition to, according to a report issued by the Pentagon’s Inspector General in August, between 14,000 and 18,000 fighters between Syria and Iraq, CNN reported.

Following the PTI report here, “Last night the United States brought the world’s number one terrorist leader to justice. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead,” Trump announced from the East Room of the White House. “Last night was a great night for the United States and for the world. A brutal killer, one who has caused so much hardship and death, has violently been eliminated. He will never again harm another innocent man, woman or child. He died like a dog. He died like a coward. The world is now a much safer place,” The US president asserted.

As per the report, Mr Trump argued the United State Special Operations forces conducted the “daring and dangerous nighttime raid and “accomplished their mission in grand style” in taking out the ISIS chief, who is said to be 48 years old. “He (Baghdadi) reached the end of the tunnel, as our dogs chased him down. He died in his vest, killing himself. And the three children. His body was mutilated by the blast. The tunnel had caved in on it, in addition,” He asserted in a televised address to the nation.

The US president mentioned that he, along with Vice President Mike Pence and top military leadership, watched the entire operation live “better than a movie” from the situation room of the White House. Baghdadi was a sick and depraved man. And now he’s gone. He was vicious and violent. He died in a vicious and violent way as a coward, running, and crying, the President told media reporters, stating that he had been looking for Baghdadi for three years.

“He was the founder and leader of ISIS. The most ruthless and violent terror organization anywhere in the world. The US has been searching for Baghdadi for many years. Capturing or killing Baghdadi has been the top national security priority of my administration,” Mr Trump asserted. “He died after running into a dead-end tunnel, whimpering, crying and screaming all the way. The thug who tried so hard to intimidate others spent his last moments in utter fear, in total panic and dread, terrified of the American forces bearing down on him,” Mr Trump mentioned.

Baghdadi’s demise demonstrates America’s relentless pursuit of terrorist leaders and US commitment to the enduring and total defeat of ISIS and other terrorist organisations, He mentioned. “Our reach is very long as you know last month, we announced that we recently killed Hamza bin Laden, the very violent son of Osama bin Laden, who was saying very bad things about people about our country about the world. He was the heir apparent to al Qaeda,” The US president stated.

No US troops were killed in the operation in Syria, but a number of Baghdadi’s followers also died while others were captured, the US President said, adding that “highly sensitive material and information” had been gathered. The US president asserted that the footage of the operation should be “brought out” that Baghdadi “died whimpering, screaming and crying”.

“They should see how he died. He didn’t die a hero. He died a coward. It was close-end tunnel, where he died. Not a good place to be. Test results gave certain, immediate and totally positive identification,” he said. The US commandos blasted the compound wall. The blast mutilated Baghdadi’s body but DNA tests confirmed his identity, US president remarked.

“It was him,” he said. “We were in the compound for approximately two hours. After the mission was accomplished we took highly sensitive material and information from the raid much having to do with ISIS origins, future plans, things that we very much want,” he asserted. Baghdadi came to prominence in 2014, when he announced the creation of a “caliphate” in areas of Iraq and Syria. ISIS carried out a number of atrocities that resulted in thousands of deaths.

Despite being hunted by the world’s best intelligence agencies and US authorities offering a whopping USD 25 million reward for information leading to his capture, ISIS” leader-Baghdadi has proved to be incredibly elusive. The killing of the ISIS leader – the top terrorist leader – comes as a major political victory for president Donald Trump who is facing an impeachment proceeding against him by the opposition Democratic Party, which hold the majority in the House of Representatives.

“This raid was impeccable, and could only have taken place with the acknowledgement and help of certain other nations and people,” The US president mentioned as he thanked Russia, Turkey, Syria and Iraq. “I also want to thank the Syrian Kurds for certain support they were able to give us to this very, very dangerous mission,” he asserted.

The US president, The lift off for the attack started sometime after 5 pm (local time), Trump said, adding that 11 children were rescued from the compound along with several others. A large number of documents and materials have also been recovered from the compound. American soldiers did an onsite DNA sample testing. Substantial body parts of the top terrorist leaders have been brought back, he asserted. “It was a secret mission. We were met with gunfire coming in but it was local gunfire and it was terminated immediately.
